Terracotta Roof Restoration Process
Croydon Roof Specialist has long provided customers in the eastern and SE suburbs of Melbourne with first-class roofing solutions. When it comes to Terracotta roof restoration projects, we have a clear process that ensures everything runs smoothly. Initially, we’ll undertake an inspection to ensure a roof restoration is the most appropriate way to proceed. Our workers inspect the roof, looking at the age and quality of the tiles to determine what work is needed.
Our experts have a clear process that they follow on all Terracotta tiles roof projects, which is:
1. Initially, we replace any broken or badly chipped tiles that will disrupt the water course.
2. The tiles are then cleaned using a high-pressure water sprayer that operates at 4000psi. This level of pressure won’t damage the tiles, but will eliminate dirt and grime.
3. The old rusty valley irons are then replaced with new ones.
4. We then check all the flashings and repair or replace them, as needed.
5. Now we remove the ridge and hip tiles and remove the old mortar bedding and re-bed the tiles.
6. Then we repoint all the relevant hip, gable, valley, and ridge tiles using a flexible pointing material. This ensures the new pointing won’t crack.
7. Everything is then cleaned up to ensure the worksite is left as we found it.
8. We make sure you are also left with six spare tiles.
9. Work is done, enjoy your roof.

Safe Terracotta Roof Restoration Working Practices
Croydon Roof Specialists can reassure customers that all our work is conducted in accordance with WorkSafe rules and regulations. To ensure the safety of our workers, temporary barriers are erected around your roof’s perimeter. The rails go up just before we begin working and are taken down once the work is finished. Because of the high risk of injury, any work on roofs must adhere to WorkSafe requirements for fall protection.
Measures are also taken to protect your property whilst working on your Terracotta roof repair. For example, our workers make sure all tools and materials are neatly stored away at the end of each day. Furthermore, our work area is always clean and tidy. Customers can be confident that their property, and everyone on it, will be safe across the project’s duration.
